Birst to open Australian data centre

Networked BI

Cloud BI and analytics platform provider Birst will open a new data centre in Australia, expanding on its existing footprint in Asia, Europe and North America.

The opening of the new data centre, which will be located in Sydney and up and running in September this year, follows a number of recent Australian customer wins for Birst, including Insurance Australia Group (IAG).

“Global enterprises are seeking a way to harmonise and blend their multiple sources of centralised and decentralised data to enable teams to collaborate more effectively. These enterprises want a more visual and adaptive user experience to support better decision-making,” said Brad Peters, chairman and chief product officer, Birst.

“As a consequence, our 2-Tier approach to BI is in heavy demand here. Our new Australian dadta centre enables enterprises to quickly unify, refine and embed information within their organisations, while helping them meet regional security requirements and have data in the same region as their end users.”

Having a local data centre is expected to deliver Australian organisations benefits in reduced cloud latency, faster response times, consistent performance and localised data protection.
