There might be a host of new business intelligence developments emerging, but fundamental BI technologies such as dashboards and self-service access have topped the list of priorities for BI users, according to the 2015 Wisdom of Crowds Business Intelligence Market Study.
Conducted by Dresner Advisory Services, the study asks users to rank 25 technologies and initiatives strategic to BI.
End-user data blending, data mining and advanced algorithms, data discovery, social media and text analysis are also increase in importance this year.
Dresner has also released the 2015 Buyers’ Guide Edition, which ranks 24 vendors across six market segments, and includes a section enabling readers to compare and contrast 22 different vendor-supported BI features across traditional, cloud and mobile platforms, as well as an analysis of BI industry licensing models.
