Big data and cloud integration solution provider Talend has had its Data Fabric platform named as a ‘Trendsetter’ in the Business Application Research Center (BARC) Data Integration Score report.
The category was a reasonably crowded one, with IBM, SAS, SAP, Oracle, and Ab Initio appearing alongside, with Informatica the only vendor taking pride of place in the ‘Market Leader’ category.
According to BARC, Trendsetters are well established vendors that drive strong market adoption, supported by technology innovation and strategic acquisitions, and by leveraging robust account management and a solid track record. They typically have a large market share and cover an extensive range of technologies and services with only a few gaps.
Talend Data Fabric combines big data, data integration, cloud, master data management and application integration into a single platform with a common development and management environment.
BARC noted in the report, “Talent provides strong core Data Integration functionality for the ETL developer in an open framework. The framework integrates with existing tools to complete functionality for development, administration and metadata management.”
Harald Weimer, managing director of Talend Germany GmbH, said it was “particularly rewarding” for the company to be recognised for its open source heritage and significant investments in big data, including Hadoop and Apache Spark.
