SAS has expanded its service to give individual users the chance to access the reporting, BI, dashboards, data discovery and approachable analytic capabilities of its Visual Analytics solution.
Licensing options now start at four cores and extend to unlimited core counts, with customers also able to deploy via the Amazon Web Services cloud and SAS Visual Analytics for SAS Cloud.
“More than 2000 sites already license SAS Visual Analytics,” said Jim Davis, executive vice president and chief marketing officer, SAS. “The new entry-level configuration surely puts the power of SAS data visualisation in the hands of many more business decision-makers who want to explore data in an interactive, self-service fashion.”
The software first launched two years ago and was billed in Q3 2014 in the Forrester Wave as the solution that “now leads the pack” in agile BI. The Forrester report commented at that time that the software lacked entry-level options, a critique which the new offering addresses.
SAS is the largest independent vendor in the BI market, with customers at more than 70,000 sites.
