Oracle’s latest 12c release of Business Intelligence (BI 12c), now generally available, delivers a single integrated platform that combines the business agility of a desktop platform with the scalable performance of a traditional BI platform, which it said prevents organisations from having to choose between the two.
“Our customers recognise that making informed decisions at the speed of today’s business requires a no-compromise analytics platform – one that empowers people with visual analytics, without compromising scale and reliability,” said Hari Sankar, group vice president, business analytics, Oracle.
Oracle BI 12c allows enterprise-wide access to one platform for self-service business intelligence, built-in advanced visual analytics, in-memory processing and simplified administration, with a revamped and improved user experience.
Oracle BI 12c integrates with the full range of Oracle’s analytics offerings on-premise and in the cloud.
“We were impressed with what we saw in the Oracle Business Intelligence 12c Beta program,” said Arvinder Singh, BI solutions architect, Land O’Lakes. “Data mashup is a big win for the business, allowing people to upload Excel data and combine results with existing OBI data for quick analysis and data visualisation means users can quickly create meaningful, versatile dashboards without getting too technical.”
According to Oracle, the key benefits of BI 12c include intuitive search-driven analytics, advanced in-memory processing for fast analysis of data from a range of sources, the ability to create interactive visual stories, accessible by mobile and on-premise users, and increased ROI through simplified administration, minimal training requirements and a streamlined upgrade process.
